“As we look for future talent, it’s crucial to have a diversity of pipelines to meet that need. MTP is bringing employers and unions together to build sustainable programs and talent pipelines.”
Allie Rikke, Minnesota Training Partnership Co-Chair and North Region Human Resources Manager of Liberty Packaging
“The Minnesota AFL-CIO launched the Minnesota Training Partnership (MTP), the first union workforce development intermediary in the state, to invest in a more equitable economy. MTP is a 501c3, with a mission of creating and enhancing equitable pathways towards safe, meaningful, and sustainable careers through collaborative partnerships. In its first year, through comprehensive and culturally affirming services, MTP proactively connected and equipped more than 1,800 working people from underserved and underrepresented racial and gender groups with union employment. Through intentional partnership with BIPOC communities, MTP is uniquely positioned to link more Minnesotans with the benefits that come from union membership and high-wage, high-demand employment. Together we are growing economic and career goals, strengthening the pipeline into stable job opportunities, and building a stronger, more vibrant workforce.”
Bill McCarthy, former Minnesota Training Partnership Co-Chair and President-Emeritus of the Minnesota AFL-CIO
