At Minnesota Training Partnership (MTP), we believe progress, equity, and opportunity are possible only when every worker has a fair chance to thrive. Our commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to connecting underserved and underrepresented communities to good union jobs that sustain families and strengthen communities.
Minnesota Training Partnership works with unions, employers, community-based agencies, labor-focused organizations, and educators to build inclusive training and apprenticeship pathways that reflect the diversity of Minnesota’s workforce. Rooted in the values of solidarity, dignity, and equity, we ensure all workers have access to safe, fair, and welcoming workplaces. By removing barriers and expanding opportunity, we help people enter and advance in high-quality careers that strengthen Minnesota’s economy. Together, we are building a stronger labor movement—and a stronger Minnesota—where everyone belongs and every worker matters. We're better when we work together.

Students at Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps are hardworking and eager to take on additional training and enter good careers. MTP staff appreciates the chance to engage these dedicated students in our short-term training programs through career fairs and one-on-one conversations.

At Minnesota Training Partnership, we recognize that some of our neighbors have a hard time accessing quality career training due to a lack of previous, formal educational credentials or their status as English Language Learners. Programs like Hospitality Foundations, provided in partnership with Saint Paul Public Schools Adult Basic Education and local union and business partners, bring equity to career training.

IUPAT DC 82 and Finishing Trades Institute of the Upper Midwest are recognized region-wide for their successful efforts in opening doors to union finishing trades careers for people from all backgrounds. MTP appreciates the opportunity to partner with these DEI-committed partners in the Union Finishing Trades for Women program.
