MTP partners with workers, unions, nonprofit organizations and businesses in Minnesota and across the nation.
After receiving an Advanced Manufacturing partnership grant from Working for America Institute (WAI), an Opportunity Youth grant from Jobs for the Future (JFF), and an Expanding Apprenticeship grant from American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), MTP quickly expanded to provide workforce development services in several states. This includes partnerships with Newport News Shipbuilding (Virginia), Huntington Ingalls (Mississippi), and Lincoln Electric (Ohio). MTP has also collaborated with partners in Washington DC, New York, Illinois, North Dakota, South Dakota, California and Texas, as we promote best practices and innovative ideas in workforce development.
At the regional level, we train women for manufacturing and construction through the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, coordinate Registered Apprenticeship programs with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry, and provide employment and training for SNAP recipients with Minnesota Department of Human Services.
Locally MTP collaborates with union affiliates, community-based organizations, training partners, and city and county governmental agencies to promote excellent outcomes for workers and their families.
