MTP, Carpenters Training Institute (CTI), and Millwrights Local 548 are partnering to provide a full range of employment and training services to assist people to learn entry-level wind energy installation skills.
Participants will gain experience and supports for successful entry into the Millwright Apprenticeship Program. This program is now enrolling in the Hermantown/Duluth MN area.
Millwrights install, maintain, repair, and dismantle heavy machinery on construction sites and in factories, warehouses, power plants, and other industrial locations. These jobs pay well, and you can become a millwright by taking part in an apprenticeship program, where you earn while learning.
· Free five-week hands-on training program for those who qualify
· Learn about the millwright trade, with a focus on wind energy
· Gain the essential skills to help you begin as a Millwright apprentice
· Work directly with the Millwright Union, your Program Navigator, and connect with industry leaders to network for job placement
· Receive valuable safety training specific to the Millwright trade, including First Aid/CPR/AED, rigging, fall protection, aerial lifts, and welding.
In addition
· Be 18 years of age or older, not enrolled in a K-12 school, and eligible to work in the U.S.
· Have a high school diploma or GED
· Individuals who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color and individuals who are unemployed or underemployed are encouraged to apply.
